Florence Zeman

Florence Rose Zeman, 86, passed away July 22, 2009 in Maranatha Village.

She was born September 9, 1922 in St. Louis, Missouri to Frank and Rose (Wessleman) Heger. Florence married Joseph J. Zeman on July 17, 1943. She had a warm heart that was always ready with a smile. Florence was a clerk, business partner, homemaker, good at comforting friends, and she was a wonderful wife and mother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her sisters, Appie Horst and Lou Stephens.

Florence is survived by her son, Gerald (Jerry) Zeman; her daughter, Joann Walker, and her husband John; her sister, Marcella Heger; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces and friends.

Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday July 24, 2009 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Tom McGann C.M.F. celebrant. Burial will be in Springfield National Cemetery under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut St.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home with prayer services starting at 7 p.m.
