Mrs. Carl (Fern) Brown went to be with her Lord on August 15, 2013, following a long illness. She had resided in Woodland Manor for almost four years.
Mrs. Brown was born in the Louisburg, MO community to George and Ida (Kee) Anderson. She graduated from the Buffalo High School, and attended Draughon’s Business School in Springfield, Missouri.
Mrs. Brown was united in marriage to Carl W. Brown while he was serving in the Army Air Corp during World War II.
The Browns resided most of their married life in the Brighton, MO and Pleasant Hope, MO area as Dairy Farmers and were known for their Jersey Cattle.
Mrs. Brown was active as a 4H leader and enjoyed working with her flowers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl W. Brown; parents, George and Ida Anderson; sister, Mrs. Dorothy Redd; and nephew, Kent D. Redd.
She is survived by one son, George C. Brown (Linda); two grandchildren, Jeff Brown and Chris Brown (Kimmie); three great grandchildren; sister, Georgia (Anderson) Tuckness; many other nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Mrs. Wanda Dillard.
Mrs. Brown was a member at Pleasant Hope Fundamental Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday Aug. 19, 2013 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Chapel with burial to follow in Springfield National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Monday in the funeral home.
