Erma Mae Mackey Broyles passed away Monday, June 23rd, peacefully at her home in Springfield, after a long illness at the age of 83.
Erma was born August 28, 1924, in Mountain Grove, Missouri, graduated from high school in Lorraine, Kansas, and spent most of her working life as a CNA. She was nominated for Missouri's "Older Worker of the Year" at age 72 in 1997. She retired from Balanced Care Center in Springfield, in 1998. She will be deeply missed by family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, James K. Broyles; two brothers and their wives, Carl and Vera Mackey and John and Lequeta Mackey; three children and their spouses, Jerry and Maggie Jantz, Joyce and James Curtiss and Gauvayhna and Bill Davis; five step-children, Jimmie Broyles, Patricia Broyles and her husband, Tom, Herbert Broyles and his wife, Denese, Linda Young and her husband, Monroe and Carson Broyles; 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 pm to 7:30 p.m. Thursday June 26th in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home 500 E. Walnut St. Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday June 27th in Souder Church of Christ in Souder, Mo. Burial will follow in in Souder Cemetery.
