Emma Stracke

Emma Jean Stracke was born on August 11, 1927 to Judd and Esther Ramsey in Bois D’Arc, MO and was one of seven children. She passed to her heavenly home on August 30, 2018. In 1948, she married Robert William Stracke, a union that lasted until his passing in 2010. Together, they traveled the country enjoying their two favorite passions: square dancing and Lady Bears basketball. While doing so, they shared these passions with dozens of others, resulting in cherished lifelong friendships. They were lifelong members of Campbell Methodist Church where they were active in the 101 Sunday School class. Jean worked at Coca-Cola here in Springfield for over 20 years. In addition, Jean was a master quilt maker and fantastic cook. Her constant good cheer and open arms made everyone feel loved and welcomed.

Nothing was more important to Jean than family, especially the grandkids and great-grandkids. Whether it be vacation trips to the lake, White Water, Silver Dollar City, birthdays, ballgames or holidays, she was always there. She is survived by her four sons and their families, including: Gary Stracke and daughter, Suzanne Jackson, and husband, Chris, along with their children, Makenna and Coen; Kenny Stracke and daughter, Mirina, and Cory Hurn; Ron Stracke and wife, Jennifer, and son, Levi, and Jillian Kane; daughter, Stephanie Praschan, and husband, Eric; daughter, Katie Henderson, and husband, Brian, along with their children, Gage and Charlie; and Gerald Stracke and son, Drew; as well as her brother, Glenn Ramsey, and wife, Janet, her sister-in-law, Wanda Ramsey, and many nieces, nephews, and family friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 4, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Herman Lohmeyer Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with a committal service to follow at Clear Creek Cemetery.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude for the love and kindness shown by the whole staff at the Manor at Elfindale and Compassus Hospice Care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jean’s name to her lifelong church, Campbell Methodist in Springfield.
