Elvina "Rosie" Reist

Rosie 72 died peacefully at home in Springfield on Feb. 10, 2008 after an extended illness. She was born April 19, 1935 in St. Thomas U.S. V.I. She was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Maurice D. Reist who died in 1986.

Rosie was a loving wife, mother and caregiver who touched many lives with her compassion and humor. She was always trying to make the world a more cheerful place to be. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

She is survived by her son, Darwin M. Reist of Springfield; her sister, Florence Bernier of St. Thomas, two brothers, Joseph Danet of Traverse City, Mich. and James Bernier of St. Thomas.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2008 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home 500 E. Walnut St. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 12 noon until service time.
