Eloise Dixon, 89, Springfield, Missouri, passed away April 24, 2010 in Jordan Creek Nursing Home.
Eloise was born in 1921 in Speed, MO. She was a member of the National Society United States Daughters of 1812 and had worked in numerous banking facilities in Missouri, retiring from the Commerce Bank in Springfield. Eloise has been an active lifelong member in the Baptist Faith. At the time of her death she was a member of the University Heights Baptist Church in Springfield. In retirement her interests included travel, gardening and flower husbandry.
Eloise was preceded in death by her husbands, Kenneth Marsh Hollandsworth and Jack Dixon; her parents, Hubert Lowell Smith and Bessie Edna Eichelberger Smith; sister, Martha Sue Brown; brother, Lowell Hoke Smith; nephew Loran Keith Brown; and niece, Patricia Ann Smith.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth Marsh Hollandsworth, Jr. and his wife Judy of Foster City, CA; brother, Albert Franklin Smith of Boonville, MO; two nieces, Maurine Brown Dodson and Marjorie Marie Smith Turner; two nephews, Franklin Mark Smith and Russell Windsor Smith.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday April 27, 2010 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut St.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday April 29 in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in New Franklin, MO.
Eloise was loved by many and her exuberant spirit lives on in our memories.
