Elizabeth "Betty" Smith

Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Smith, 91 of Springfield, Mo went to be with her Lord and Savior and her husband who she has been without for 36 years, Tuesday morning January 19th, 2016. She was born July 20, 1924 in Menominee, Michigan to George and Lillian O’Connor. Betty was a very giving and caring person and was a faithful member of St Joseph church and so loved her family and the Lord God.
She was united in marriage to Lawrence “Larry” Smith on May 25, 1946 and preceded in death by Larry (or “Daddy” as she would call him) in 1979 whom she loved dearly. She is survived by her 7 children, George (Jeannie), Steve (Marla), Joyce (Pat), Danny (Jamie), Patty, Roger (Andrea) and Ronnie. Eleven Grandchildren, Curtis, Tracy, Gary, Jennifer, Jeffrey, Nicholas, Arthur, Lacie, Jacqueline, Madison and Allison. Ten Great-Grandchildren, Zoie, Ella, Tyson, Gage, Aubryana, Olivia, Mason, Raegan, Kellan and Paisley . She also survived by two brothers Dan (Judy) O’Connor and Jim (Delores) O’Connor.
Funeral mass will be at 1 p.m. Friday January 22nd in St Joseph Church in Springfield with Father Denis Dougherty celebrant and burial to follow at the Resurrection Cemetery. Rosary will be at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, January 21st with visitation following at Herman Lohmeyer Funeral Home
