Eddy (Edwina) Jacobs, Springfield, passed away at 3:30am, Sunday, July 8th, 2012, in Christian Health Care East.
She was born April 5th, 1928, in Springfield, Missouri to Raymond C. and Hazel (Cloud) Booth. She was married to Alexander “Jake” Jacobs on January 26th, 1952. She was a humanitarian and involved through Holy Trinity church, the Elk’s Club #409, St.John’s/Mercy hospital, and helped found The Kitchen, to help feed the needy throughout the Springfield area. Interests included singing with the Sweet Adelines, equestrian events, and activities too numerous to list. Eddy enjoyed life to the fullest and was constantly active.

Eddy was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Robert and her husband Jake.

She is survived by her two children, J. Michael Jacobs and wife, Nell, of Columbus, Ohio, and Patrick C. Jacobs of Springfield. She was known as “Two-Mom” to her nine grandchildren, Jeannine, Mary, Janice and her husband Corey, Joseph, Suzanne and her husband Dusten, Steven, Patrick R. and his wife Dee Dee, Kelly M. and Alli and husband, Mykl; seven great-grandchildren, Daisy, Abbey, Dennis, Mason, David, Anna, Benjanmen.

A Memorial Mass will be at 11:00am, Thursday, July 12th, 2012, in Holy Trinity Church with Father Fergus Monaghan, celebrant, under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut. No visitation is planned.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Veteran’s Committee of Elk’s Lodge 409.
