Edward Paul Striplin died Saturday March 13, 2010 at home. His family, sister-in-law, Dora Stewart, Pastor Bruce and Sister Debbie Doublin were at his side at the time of passing. He was born January 27, 1933 in Enterprise, Louisiana to James Oliver And Josie (Heath) Striplin. On October 22, 1954 he married Mary Jane (McGarity) Striplin in Buckeye, Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his parents: two brothers, James and Woody Striplin, four sisters, Joyce Pittman, Kathryrn Franks, Helen Babson, Betty Skeen and a son Donald Ray Striplin.
Survivors include his wife of the home, two sons, Dennis of Plato, Douglas of Lebanon and a daughter, Deborah Maxon of Philmoth, Oregon. three grandsons, Jason Maxon and his wife Melissa of Toledo, Oregon. Edward P. Striplin, Jr. and Douglas D. Striplin, Jr. and his wife Clarissa Hicks of Lebanon. four great grandchildren, Jay and MacKenzie Maxon of Toledo, Oregon, Ashley and Kaiden Striplin of Lebanon. He is also survived by one sister, Jean Johnson of Odessa, Texas; three brothers-in-law, Robert McGarity of Savanna. GA, Herbert McGarity of Apple Valley, California, and William McGarity of Eldon, Mo.; five sisters-in-law, Lela Kenion of Corvallis, Oregon, Dora Stewart of Eldon, Mo, Barbara Clark of Glendale, Arizona, Priscilla Willingham of Edmond, Oklahoma, LaDonna Miranda of Peoria Arizona and Orpha McGarity of Peoria, Arizona also many very special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A very special thanks to St John's Hospice Care of Lebanon, Arlene McCormack, Amy Cook, Lanay Sharp, Sherry Hillhouse, and Jack Betts for the special care that was given. Funeral services for Edward Paul Striplin will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday March 16, 2010 in Sunnyview Freewill Baptist Church in Sunnyview, Mo. with Pastor Bruce Doublin officiating under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home 500 E. Walnut St. Springfield, Mo. Visitation will be from 10 am until service time on Tuesday in the church.
Commital services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday March 17, 2010 in Hedden Chapel Cemetery, in Grapevine, Arkansas
