Edward Francis Lucas, Jr. entered his earthly life on February 25, 1964 and left his earthly shell behind on January 16, 2009 in his home in Springfield, MO after a 13 month battle with cancer.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Lucas, of Springfield, MO; one daughter, Tia Bowers of Battlefield, MO; his parents, Ed and DonElda Lucas of Lebanon, MO; his brother, Thomas Lucas of Wendell, ID; two sisters, Tammy Sellers of Wendell, ID and Michelle Lucas of Lebanon, MO; three grandchildren, Jaden, Ashlyn, and Jaxen; plus many other nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, and in-laws who will greatly miss him.
Ed retired from the United States Air Force on April 1, 2003. Ed was a beloved member of Second Baptist Church of Springfield, MO. Ed was greatly loved and will be even more greatly missed. He was a faithful and loving husband, father, son, papa, uncle, brother-in-law, cousin and friend. Most importantly he was a good and faithful servant to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday January 21, 2009 in Second Baptist Church in Springfield, MO with Pastor John Marshall officiating under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut. Burial will follow in Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
No visitation is planned.
