Our loving husband and father, Edward Charles Otradovec, "Eddie", went to be with the Lord, after a terminal illness on Dec. 31, 2008. Eddie was born in Pleasant Hope, Missouri March 20, 1926. He graduated from Bolivar High School and went directly into the Navy. He was honorably discharged in June, 1946. He went to Radio and TV engineering school in Kansas City, MO. He then worked for RCA in New York City, St. Paul MN, and Jefferson City Missouri. He then married Irene Anne Ruzicka in 1948 and moved to Springfield Mo where he worked for KWTO and KY3 TV. After his retirement from KY3, he continued his custom home building business. Eddie is survived by his wife of 60 years and his 5 children; Jane Gaetze of Sioux Falls, S.D.; Teresa Driver of Springfield, MO; Victoria Peurifoy of Springfield, MO; Kathleen Dixon of St. Louis, MO; and Jim Otradovec of Springfield, MO. He has 16 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Eddie is preceded in death by his parents James and Mary Otradovec and six of his eight siblings. He is survived by his sister Mary Frances Ruzicka and his brother Charles Otradovec, both of Springfield, MO. Eddie loved to spend time with all of his family. He was a loving and caring father and grandfather. He loved teaching his children about the Catholic faith, life in general, and fishing, especially bass fishing, and spending time at his lake home. He enjoyed every day and celebrated each by saying his prayers, feeding the birds, having his coffee, and working in his garden. We will miss his love and tenderness. He also enjoyed the Knights of Columbus and became a Fourth Degree Knight. Funeral Mass will be at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 2818 E. Bennett, Springfield MO at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 3, 2009, with Father Fergus Monaghan and Monsignor Thomas E. Reidy, concelebrating Burial will be at Karlin Cemetery near Bolivar, MO. Visitation will be at 6:30 pm with a Rosary beginning at 8:00 pm on Friday, January 2, 2009 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, with Father Fergus Monaghan.
