Edward C. Burgard, 80, of Kimberling City passed away on Monday, November 9, 2009 at St. Johns Hospital, in Springfield, MO. Ed was born in Buffalo, NY to Willard and Elise Waite Burgard, and was predeceased by his brothers, Bill Burgard and Ralph Burgard. He is survived by his wife, Janet Burgard of Kimberling City, MO, his daughter Elise and son -in- law Ron Attanasio of Lincoln, NE, his son Ed and daughter - in- law Sheila of Chapel Hill, NC, and his daughter Annie Burgard of Columbia, SC. Also surviving are his step children, Dan Dorrance and his wife Beth of Ballwin, MO, Debbie McWay and her husband Matt of Kirkwood, MO, and Julie Albertson and her husband Matt from Lake St. Louis, MO. Ed was the proud Granddaddy of Devon, Drew, Doron, Damaris, Deanna, Nora, Eddie, May, Sean, Maggie, Tim, Sarah, Spencer, Cooper, Aaron and Abbey!

Ed was a graduate of Yale University. He served in the U.S. Army and spent most of his career as a packaging equipment engineer. He and Janet bought a home in Kimberling City in 1994 after retiring from Anheuser Busch in St. Louis, MO.

He was a member of Our Lady of the Cove Catholic Church in Kimberling City. Ed was an avid student of the Bible and his love of the Lord was evident to everyone who knew him. A talented musician, Ed brought joy to many gatherings with beautiful sounds from his clarinet.

Visitation will be at 10:00 A.M. at the church followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 14, 2009. Memorials may be offered to The American Heart Association, Stone County Food Pantry, Our Lady of the Cove Youth Ministries, or your charity of choice.
