Edmund Bailey

Edmund J. Bailey, 85, of Springfield, MO passed away peacefully at 11:44 pm on December 1, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 6, 1937 in St. Louis, MO. He is survived by his loving wife Shirley of 65 ½ years, daughter Theresa Stocker of Springfield, MO, his daughter Kimberly Turner (Robert deceased) of High Ridge, MO, and his son James Bailey (Connie) of Labadie, MO. He was preceded in death by his daughter Donna Staggs. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives, and many friends. He will be greatly missed but we take comfort in knowing he is safely home.

Ed (Jim) was a Fourth-Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, served his parish in many roles, and served as a volunteer firefighter/engineer. He always enjoyed being with family, Nascar, St. Louis Blues Hockey, reading, crossword puzzles, and doctor of motors.

Memorial Mass will be at 11 am Saturday December 17, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church 1115 N. Campbell Springfield, MO with Fr. Karl Barmann, O.S.B. celebrant. The rosary will be said prior to the Mass. Everyone is invited to a luncheon following Mass at the church parish hall.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or St. Jude’s Research Hospital.
