Edith Izora Ward, 94, of Nixa Missouri, passed away on Friday, November 6th, 2020, at home surrounded by her family.
She was born March 15th, 1926, in West Chicago Illinois, the daughter of Herman and Alma (Post) Hayes.
Edith had a talent for crocheting, so much that she would crochet stocking caps for Mercy cancer patients, Veterans at the Veteran's Home, and for youth in The Rare Breed. She was a huge Cardinal fan and enjoyed bowling.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Herschel Ward and her son, Barry Ward.
Edith is survived by her son, Richard Ward; her three daughters, Linda Rabe, Peggy Yonkman, Vicki Wilson, six grandchildren, Becky, Chris, Joshua, Ashley, Dwight, and Jennifer; six great grandchildren, Harley, Rachel, Oliver, Mattie, Nevaeh, and Hayden; one great, great grandson, Preston, and many extended family and friends.
A Visitation will be held at 11:00 am to 12:30 pm on Thursday, November 12th, 2020 at Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home: 500 East Walnut Street, Springfield, Missouri 65806.
A Graveside Service will be at 1:00 pm, Thursday, November 12th, 2020 at Hazelwood Cemetery: 1642 East Seminole Springfield, MO 65804, with Rev. Carl Curtis presiding over services. Burial will follow at Hazelwood Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri.
