Earl "Jimmy" Edward Williams passed away November 21, 2009 in the Manor at Elfindale in Springfield, Mo. Earl, the son of Stephen M. and Viola (Doke) Williams, was born near Marshfield, Mo., Dec. 22, 1912, the tenth of ten children. Earl lived in the Marshfield and Springfield area in his early years and worked as a carpenter helping to build a number of Springfield's first subdivions. In 1959 Earl and his family moved to Fresno, California where he worked for the Fresno City and Fresno County school system until his retirement. He spent much of his retirement in Fresno, California working in his yard and the flower gardens he loved. Earl returned to Springfield in 2006.
In December 1938, Earl and Clara B. Derrick of Fair Grove, Mo. were united in marriage and shared 57 years of marriage until Clara's death in 1995. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Robin D. Williams; a grandson, Timothy Lumley; one brother and eight sisters.
Survivors include a daughter, Loretta Lumley of Kissee Mills, Mo.; a son, Rex and wife Maura of Caplinger Mills, Mo.; a son, Stephen and wife Cheryl of Battlefield, Mo.; a daughter, Sharon Cerutti and husband Greg of Reno, Nev.; a son, Patrick and wife Frances of Lincoln, Cailf.; 10 grandchildren, and seventeen great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday Nov. 24, 2009 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home 500 E. Walnut Street with Msgr. Thomas Reidy officiating, Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Tuesday in the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in Fresno Memorial Gardens in Fresno, Calif.
