Earl E. Huff, Jr., 81, of Springfield, passed away at 7:55 p.m. on Tuesday, January 11, 2005 in his home. He was born in Fayetteville, Arkansas, the third of eight children, on July 13, 1923 to Earl E. and Evelyn (Johnson) Huff. He attended Westside and Jefferson Grade Schools, and Fayetteville High School. He spent a year in the U.S. Navy as a SeaBee and was a member of the American Legion. He belonged to Holy Trinity Catholic Church, the Men's Club and was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Earl married Lucy May Seitz on June 5, 1945 who preceded him in death on May 30, 2002. They were married for 57 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and two sisters.
Mr. Huff is survived by his son, Robert, and wife, Pam of Ocean Springs, Mississippi; three sisters, Virginia Barron, Claudene King and husband, Charles, and Emma Stone; a brother, Alvin Huff, North Carolina; and two grandsons, Robert and Barry Huff, South Carolina.
Funeral Mass will be at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, January 15, 2005 in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 2818 E. Bennett, with Monsignor Thomas Reidy, celebrant, under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut. Burial will be in Maple Park Cemetery.
Rosary Services will be at 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
