Dr. Daniel P. DeFlorio passed away in his home in Ozark, Missouri on Monday, May 25, 2015.
Beloved by family, colleagues and friends, he is survived by his wife, Donna; daughter, Kristen and niece, Lorene McLaughlin.
Dan was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts on August 19, 1950. He received his undergraduate degree from Boston College and his doctorate from the University of Massachusetts Medical School. For the past thirteen years he served as a Pathologist at Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
Dan’s passion for dogs, their care and safety displayed his kindness and generosity in ways small and large. Dan was an active member of the Basenji Club of America and proudly served as an evaluator for both the AKC Good Citizen Program and the Therapy Dogs International Program.
Dan’s modesty and sensitivity, his empathy and caring were gifts that keep giving. We are grateful for his life and we mourn his loss.
