Doyle D. Robinson III "Rob" departed this life peacefully, Tuesday, April 8, 2025. He was born in Logan, West Virginia on January 19, 1948 to Doyle D. and Phyllis Browning Robinson. He grew up there and graduated from Logan High School in 1966. Rob attended Trevecca Nazarene College and Bethany Nazarene College before enlisting in the United States Navy. He was stationed at Pearl Harbor for four years with tours of duty on the USS Ponchatoula. After honorable discharge from the the Navy, he made his home in Springfield, Missouri.
Rob experienced several occupations before discovering his lifelong passion. He spent 48 years working many positions for General Motors and Chevrolet. He made lifelong friends throughout those years.
Rob loved his family, his friends, his church, the Missouri State Bears and most especially the St. Louis Cardinals -- he was an avid fan! A true people person, Rob enjoyed learning everyone's story.
Rob was preceded in death by his parents, his brother William and sister Leigh Ann. He is survived by his wife of 42 wonderful years, Loretta Ann; his children Chad Blakley (Linnea), Angela Jolley (Kyle), Cory Robinson (Mary); 4 grandchildren, Paige Haedike (Caleb), Olivia Robinson, Konner Jolley, and Torbjorn Blakley; sisters, Carmel Morgan and Paula Andre. He will be greatly missed by many friends and relatives.
Visitation begins at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 17, 2025 at Wesley United Methodist Church 922 W Republic Rd, Springfield, MO 65807 followed by a celebration of life service at 11:00 a.m. A military ceremony at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery 5201 S. Southwood Road Springfield, MO 65804 will take place at 1:00 p.m. that afternoon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice.
Services are under the direction of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home.
