Dorris Roos

Dorris Irene Roos, 79, Springfield, MO departed this life Friday July 29, 2011 in Mercy Villa. She was born August 30, 1931 in Lesterville, MO to John Henry and Mancy Elizabeth (Sutterfield) Pinkley.

Dorris was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, serving in Korea.

She is survived by her husband Lindley A. Roos; four sons, James W. Roos, Guy R. Roos, G. William Detrick III, Stanley R. Detrick; three daughters, Julia A. Roos, Susan Detrick Comparato, Nancy Detrick Lawson; one sister, Ina Lashley; her brother Willys Pinkley; 17 grandchildren and 24 great granchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son Daniel A. Roos and her granddaughter Hannah Ruth Detrick.

Services will be held at 11:30 AM Tuesday, August 2, 2011 in Wesley United Methodist Church officiated by Reverend Jerry Boehmer. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until service time in the church. Burial will follow in Missouri Veterans Cemetery with full military honors under the care and direction of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home.
