Dorothy Hicks

Dorothy J. Hicks, 46 of Springfield passed away at Tuesday August 4, 2009 in her home.

Dorothy was born June 3, 1963 in Libeourn, Missouri to Robert and Eula (Ross) Grant. She was a loving mother, good friend and had a great heart. Dorothy enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and liked slushies from Sonic.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Joseph. Survivors include, her seven children, Lakesha Hicks, Nikia Hicks, Davetta Hicks, Eston Lane, Jacquline Lane, Eula Peoples and Lula Peoples; her six grandchildren, Jordan Washington, Tanesha Hicks, Dreven Hicks, Kourtlin McMeekan, Talan Hicks and soon, Andreas Hicks; her three siblings, Jacquline Doolittle, Evelyn Grant, Charlotte Grant; her two aunts, Lula Washington and Charity Grant and many cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday August 14, 2009 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Chapel. Burial will follow in Hazelwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until service time Friday in the funeral home.
