Dorothy Jean Donahue was born October 16, 1951 in Memphis, TN. She was preceded in death by both parents, Sam and Elizabeth Donahue. She moved to Springfield, MO in June of 1973 to live with her Aunt Maggie. Dorothy, in spite of her handicap and disability from childhood with Polio, lived her life to the fullest. She had a passion for reading, television, music and movies. Dorothy was a very dedicated soap opera fan. Some of the celebrities most dear to her heart were Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, Johnnie Cash and Willie Nelson.
Dorothy was baptized on Sunday September 27, 2009, in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. She departed this life on Monday September 28, 2009. Dorothy is survived by three sisters, Bette Jean Ficklin (Larry), Pamela Donahue both of Memphis, TN, and Theresa Cullens (Jehu) of Springfield, MO. Two brothers, Larry Donahue Sr. (Shelby) of Richmond, VA. and Henry Donahue of Buffalo, NY. Two aunts, one uncle, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
Dorothy will also be sadly missed by her extended family, the residents of Madison and Stillwell Towers where she resided the past 11 years. She was afforded the opportunity to live independently and loved the activities shared with the residents precisely bingo and pot luck dinners. Dorothy lived an extremely rewarding life and was loved by all who knew her.
