Doris Williams, 92, of Springfield born April 17, 1912 in Hollywood, CA passed away February 14, 2005 at 2:30 a.m. after a short illness. Doris graduated from Springfield Senior High School and attended a business college. Doris was a lifetime resident of Springfield. She was an office manager, bookkeeper, and home builder. She spent countless hours researching the family genealogy and enjoyed working crossword puzzles and word games. Her trademark being her sharp wit.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Curtice and Gertrude Williams; sisters, Mary Williams, Jean Wagemann, Irene Wilkerson, Martha Myers, Alice Tolliver and brother, Jim Williams. She is survived by her sister; Kathryn Netzer and husband Roland Netzer, brothers; Edgar Williams, John and wife Charlene of Garwood, TX, Curtice and wife Cathy, Fred and wife Clair, Jerry and wife, Roberta and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut, with Chaplain Ann Payette officiating.
No visitation is planned.
