Doris Porter

Doris Jean Porter, age 86, of Springfield, Missouri passed away on Friday, November 5, 2021, at Jordan Creek Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Springfield.

She was born September 4, 1935, in Competition, Missouri the daughter of John Wallace Mings and Goldie Ida (Spencer) Mings.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Lee Mings and Vaughn Mings; her sister, Nadine Jones, her infant son, Roy Lee Porter; a son, Richard Porter; grandson, Scott Ryser; and a great grandson, Gavin Sharp.

Doris is survived by her four children, Cindy Jones and her husband Larry of Seymour, Missouri, Vicky Boiko and her husband Vlad of Greely, Colorado, Wanda Jo Sharp and her husband Jim of Dixon, Missouri, and Loretta Lynn Sweeney of Wichita, Kansas; one brother, Wallace Van Mings of Greenville, South Carolina; one sister, Pansy Pearl Chrisp of Manes, Missouri; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and seven great great grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at Dutch Chapel Cemetery near Manes, Missouri with her brother, Reverend Wallace Van Mings officiating.

A viewing will be held from 3:00-5:00 pm on Tuesday afternoon, November 9, 2021, for anyone that may wish to drop by Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut Street in Springfield, Missouri.
