Donna Fay Kensinger Keithley Carter
August 12, 1944 - March 5, 2015
A Tribute To Mom
On Thursday, March 5, 2015, Donna Fay Kensinger Keithley Carter joined her Momma Effie, her daughter Karen and her favorite brother Frank along with several other siblings and parents in Heaven. She had been struggling health wise off and on for a few years. Jesus decided it was time to for her to come home due to complications from the flu.
She is already missed by a large family including: Her son James Keithley, his wife Laura and daughter Samantha of Mesa, Arizona. Her son Steven Keithley, his wife Tiffany and children Holly, Mariah, Shane, Kyle, Sierra, Sean and Summer of Missouri. Her daughter Nancey Blakey, her husband Tim, and children Michael, Donna and Timmy of Missouri. Her son Carl (CJ) Keithley, his wife Shannon, and children Mckenzie and Aaron of Missouri.
Great grandchildren include: Samantha, Lily, Alexis, Denver, Journey, Joseph, Kadence, Hannah, Brendon, Hayden, Mason, Trenton, Stormie, Bellaka, Emily, Jacob, Sophia, Gannon, Ramiah and Harper.
Several siblings including Betty, Freddie, Gretchen, Jimmy and Bob, many cousins, friends, in-laws and out-laws.
Also worthy of mention are all of the people she "adopted" into her heart, too many to list but always in her heart. She gave away tons of love and in turn received the same.
To describe this lovely lady with a few words is impossible. She was spunky, fun-loving, ornery, loving, caring, a spitfire who was strong willed and determined, some might even say hard-headed. She was a special, feisty, beautiful, vibrant, opinionated, nutty, quirky, 4'10" with a 6'6" attitude. She said what she meant whether it was "politically correct" or completely off the wall. You always knew what she honestly thought.
Donna loved her family with a fierceness that was true and real. She had a horrific, loveless childhood that she determined to make up for with her own family. She accomplished that goal extraordinarily. You always felt and heard about how much she loved all of us.
Donna would tell each of her grandchildren and then her great- grandchildren that they were each her favorite just to watch them fight over her... And,oh my, did they fight over her... She would laugh and laugh until the kids were rolling around laughing with her. She was each of their favorite.
This lady loved her music and to dance to every singer from Conway Twitty to Kid Rock! She taught her daughter Nancey, her granddaughters and her great-granddaughters all to dirty dance on the coffee table. Awesome videos and awesome memories!
Donna worked and lived in Bolivar for many years. She considered Bolivar to be her hometown. She has many friends there.
"Do not cry for me but remember my smile.
With love, warmth and acceptance, I smile for you.
For the rainy, cold and hard days, a smile can get you through.
Jesus looked down and called my name, as my time had come.
Remember my smile, for it will watch ever so closely.
I love you all and with this I give you one last smile all of my love to you all." She will be loved and missed by her baby CJ and many, many, more.
A memorial service will be held Saturday March 28th at 2:00pm at the home of her son at 1131 Abesville Circle, Galena, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Herman H Lohmeyer Funeral Home in Springfield, MO to help with the costs incurred for her cremation. Or in her name to the Polk County Humane Society in Bolivar, Missouri.
