Derek Commenator

Derek William Commenator, 19, Springfield, passed away 3:35 p.m. Wednesday April 21, 2010 in St. John's Hospital.

He was born March 16, 1991 in Springfield, Missouri to Ralph and Patricia (Burns) Commenator. Derek was very special person who touched many lives. He always had a smile on his face. Derek loved music, game shows and NFL football. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Angels disguised as doctors and nurses that cared for him all of his life.

Derek is survived by his mother and step-father, Patricia and Ken Waller; father, Ralph Commenator; brother, Todd Curtis; paternal grandparents, Ralph and Rita Commenator; and maternal grandparents, Lester Burns and Virginia Webster.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday April 24, 2010 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut, with Fr. Mike McDevitt and Rev. Ryan Palmer officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
