Dennis Catlin

Dennis Wayne Catlin, 55, Springfield, passed away at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2006 in ManorCare Health Services.

Dennis was born June 12, 1951 in Albia, Iowa to Joseph and Margaret (Chilchotte) Catlin. He graduated from Baptist Bible College in 1983. In 1985, Dennis went to Thailand to be a missionary. He later came back to the United States in 2003 after suffering a stroke.

He loved Thailand, Thai people, and hard work. Dennis was a very giving man, always thinking of others before himself. He is now at home with his Lord and Savior, and at peace at last. He will be greatly missed by many.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Debra Catlin; his five children, Stephanie Leugers, and her husband Chad of Iowa, Stephen Catlin, Kelly Catlin, Kristina Catlin, and Cynthia Catlin, all of Springfield; his grandchildren, Caleb Leugers and Olivia Catlin; his mother, Margaret Krueger; and his brother Joe Catlin, and his wife Veronica, of Vancouver, Canada.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 23, 2006 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut, with Pastor Robert Mullis officiating. Burial will be in Maple Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
