Dennie Jordan

Dennie Francis Jordan, 78, of Mt. Vernon, MO. (formerly of Geneseo, IL), went to be with the Lord on Oct. 4, 2018, after a five-year battle with pancreatic cancer.

He was born Nov. 6, 1939 in Centerville, IA to Gurnie Sr. and Flora Inez (Glasgow) Jordan. He was a 1957 graduate of Alwood High School in Woodhull, IL. and served in the Army Reserves. He married Mary Lou Carlson on Oct. 1, 1976. He retired from Deere & Co. of Moline, IL in 1992 as a systems analyst. He enjoyed doing handyman work, landscaping and helping everyone.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary Lou; a daughter, Amber (Scott) Holdwick of Ubly, MI; a stepson, Paul (Tracy) Hoffman of Moline, IL; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Joshua; sisters, Janiece and Carol; and brother, Gurnie, Jr.

Following his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded with private services held at a later date.
