David Paul Sponholtz 63, Willard, Missouri, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2015 in Mercy Hospital, Springfield. He was born July 14, 1951 in Washington, DC to Gilbert and Vera Sponholtz.
David was a very out-going person, kind and a loving husband, father and friend. He loved to be the jokester and play with his children. He loved music especially the Beatles, fishing and sports, also sea food and going out to eat. He was a truck driver for 25 years, and loved to travel.
He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
David was survived by his wife Patsy Sponholtz of Willard, Missouri, step daughter; Rachel Vaughn and granddaughter Morgan Verser, both of Springfield, Missouri, and grandson Devin Allen. Two sons Eric Sponholtz and granddaughter Destiny,of Yucca Valley, Claifornia, and Caleb Sponholtz, of Paso Rubles, California. His mother Vera Whattam, three sisters and three brothers Sue Blaski, of St. Louis, Missouri, Karen Eaton,of Sequin, Washintgon, Greg Sponholtz, of Richland, Washington, Kim Snedden, of Bremerton, Washington, Kevin Whattam, of Richland, Washington, and Jeff Whattam, of Louisville, Kentucky.
Memorial graveside services with military honors will be at 1 p.m. Friday, April 3, 2015 in Springfield National Cemetery under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home.
