Darin Crawford

Darin Matthew Crawford, the undisputed movie trivia buff, passed from this life into his heavenly home on March 6, 2023.

Born November 10, 1978 in Kansas City, Darin grew up and lived his early years in Williston, North Dakota where he graduated high school before relocating to the Springfield area where he attended Evangel University and subsequently earned a degree in hospitality management from Missouri State University. Darin worked in the hotel industry in Indiana and Missouri, where he managed properties for national lodging chains.

Darin was a multi-faceted man. He enjoyed cooking, frequently experimenting with new recipes and cooking methods. Family members were regularly treated to his creations. He relaxed by playing the latest video games and viewing old movies; he could interject movie quotes into most any conversation. Darin was often accompanied by Sammie, his beloved Maltese, four-legged companion.

Darin is survived by a loving family including his parents, Ed and Sharon Crawford, three brothers, Scott (Saralyn) Crawford, Kevin (Jill) Crawford, and Nathan Crawford. He leaves 9 Crawford nieces and nephews: Kaliana, Maxwell, Benjamin, Hannah, Ruth, Elijah, Isaiah, Esther, and Caleb. He is preceded in death by nephew Joshua Crawford. He was loved and will be missed by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, March 13 at Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut Street, Springfield, Missouri 65806, with the Reverend Fred Chilton officiating. Interment will be Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
