Danny Sampey

Danny E. Sampey entered into eternal rest on March 1, 2012.

He is survived by June Sampey, his wife of 62 years, children, Cheryl, Carole, Craig and his wife Mary, Colleen and her husband Joe, 6 grandchildren, Blair, Ashley, Jonathan, Ryan, Christopher, and Connor, and many other family members and friends.

Danny was born and raised in Springfield, Missouri and served as a Seabee in the Navy during World War II. He settled in southern California after the war, where he met and married June. He moved back to Missouri to live out his final years, near where he grew up. He died a few months short of his 87th birthday. The family wishes to thank his neighbors and the wonderful people of Mercy Hospice, who cared for him over the many months preceding his death.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday March 6, 2012 in Maple Park Cemetery under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home.

No visitation is planned.
