He was born April 19, 1954 in Detroit, Michigan to Robert and Marion Scherlitz.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Robert and Larry.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Scherlitz; son, John Covel; grandchildren, Anthony, Riley, Ethan, Payton and Tryston; brothers, Gilbert, Ron and Richard; sisters, Beverley, Sharon, Cindy, Lenore and Linda; and many other family members and friends.
Memorial visitation will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday May 3, 2013 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut with prayer services starting at 6:30 p.m.
Memorial graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday May 4, 2013 in Greenfield Cemetery, in Greenfield, MO.
