Cynthia Ann Colbert was born on February 11, 1955 to Myra and Larry Mitchell. She went to walk beside the Lord on June 9, 2005 at Joy Assisted Living Center.
Cyndi was raised in Springfield by her loving mother and father, Myra and Maurice Willoughby, who survive. She graduated from St. Agnes High School and made her living as a technician in the health care field.
Cyndi brought care and comfort to all she came in contact with in her occupation. She loved her family, her friends, music, the outdoors, and animals of all kinds.
Cyndi was united in marriage to Luther Wayne Colbert in April, 1974, and to this union were born two daughters, Aimee Rachelle and Andrea Elizabeth.
She was preceded in death by her father, Larry Mitchell; her maternal and paternal grandparents; and her beloved pet, Tinker Bell.
In addition to her mother and dad, Cyndi is survived by her two daughters, Andrea Elizabeth Colbert and Aimee Rachelle Tasker and her husband Tim; and Cyndi's grandchildren, Nate, Emily, and Brendan; her two brothers, David Anthony Willoughby and Michael Vincent Willoughby; Julie; her two nieces, Cassie and Bayleigh; her paternal grandfather, Ronald Owen; her uncle, Gordon Owen; her aunt, Peggy Patton; her great aunts, Louise Prater and Lucille Hammond, all of Springfield, and her aunt, Bonnie Grace Day of Bend, Oregon; and numerous friends and cousins.
She is also survived by her best friend of 38 years, Vicki Evans, of Sparta, Missouri; and a dear friend, Carol Foster, who opened her heart and home and gave a safe haven to Cyndi's beloved Spot and Sadie.
Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 17, 2005 in St. Agnes Chapel with Fr. Marek Bozek celebrant.
Visitation will be from 6:30 pm to 7 pm Thursday with prayer services starting at 7 pm all in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home 500 E. Walnut St.
