Curtis Shearhart

Curtis D. Shearhart, 74 of Springfield passed away at 1:41 p.m. on Monday September 13, 2010 in Cox South Hospital.

He was born December 22, 1935 in Independence, Kansas to Orville and Elnora Louise (Gordon) Shearhart.

Curtis married Barbara J. Ashley on December 25, 1955.

Curtis was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife Barbara; his daughter and son-in-law Heather and Sean Najafi, his son, David Shearhart; his five grandchildren, Christina Smeriglio, Michael Brown, Autumn Najafi, Matthew Najafi and Brandon Shearhart; one great grandchild, Kayden Hardin; his two brothers, Richard Shearhart and Larry Shearhart and his wife Shirley; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Graveside services with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday September 18, 2010 in Washburn Prarie Cemetery near Washburn, Missouri with Rev. Kenneth Hull officiating under the care and direction of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home 500 E. Walnut Street. Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
