Connie June (Brooks) McCall

Connie June McCall, 57, Springfield, Missouri, passed away Sunday, April l, 2007 in her home. Connie was born August 24, 1949 in Upland, California to Willie and Laura (Malicoat) Brooks. She graduated from Central High School in 1967 and attended Drury Vo-Tech where she took courses on computer programming.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Bill Brooks; and one sister, Polly Hyde.

Surviving her death is one brother, Fred Brooks and his wife, Joyce, Ash Grove; sisters, Tudie and her husband, Chrest Lazaro, Wanda Donovan and fiance, Richard Wilson, all of Springfield; a host of nieces, nephews, friends; and a very special friend, Steve Hinkle and his daughter, Kami.

Connie was best known for playing shuffleboard. She was known well by players from coast to coast, and was the first female inducted into the Missouri Shuffleboard Hall of Fame. She was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 3934.

Connie will be missed by her family, friends, and co-workers at Dillons. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Seasons Hospice, 1354 E. Kingsley, Springfield, MO 65804.

Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 4, 2007 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut with Pastor Don Miller officiating. A reception will be held following the service at 3:30 p.m. in The Eagles Lodge 603 W. Plainview Rd. Online condolences can be made at www.hhlohmeyer.com.
