Christina Marie "Nina" Lovvorn

Christina Marie "Nina" Lovvorn, 18 of Springfield died Friday May 6, 2011 as a result of injuries she received in an auto accident in Chambers County, Alabama.

Christina was born Jan. 28, 1993 in Fort Huachuca, Arizona to Andrew Lovvorn and Stacey (Swanson) Velez. Nina was a beautiful, smart young lady. She strived to do her best in everything she set her mind to. She loved her family and friends and was always there for someone in need. Christina had a special place in her heart for her brother and sister. They shared many good times together. Nina will forever be in our hearts. She will be loved and missed for eternity.

She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Linda Swanson and Gloria Lovvorn.

Nina is survived by her mother and step-father, Stacey and Alex Velez; her father, Andrew Lovvorn; her siblings, Sadie and Antonio Velez; her grandparents, John Swanson, Joe and Carolyn Lovvorn, and Aladino and Abigail Velez, her aunts and uncles, Robert Swanson, Trey and Heather Lovvorn, Abigail Velez, Haydee and Edwin Figueroa; and many cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday May 12, 2011 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Chapel 500 E. Walnut Street with Pastor Owen Carr officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday May 11, 2011 in the funeral home.
