Chester N. Reeves, 77 of Urbana, formerly of Springfield and Rogersville, was born June 10, 1932 and passed away April 15, 2010.
Chester served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He returned to Springfield and worked for many years with Kraft Foods and as a construction contractor, where he worked for Bass Pro and traveled the country. He spent his last working years as a rural carrier in the Elkland, Mo., area before retiring in 1998. During retirement, he served as Vice President of the Wheatland Senior Center. He enjoyed writing music, playing the harmonica, dancing, and deer hunting each year.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Chester Allen in 1969.
He is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Reeves and Constance Bonner; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Chester loved his family and friends dearly, we will miss him very much.
Graveside service will be Friday, April 23, at 2 p.m., in Hazelwood Cemetery. A memorial service will be May 2, at 2 p.m. in the Wheatland Senior Center. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request donations be made to the Wheatland Senior Center.
