Charles Leroy Fox

Charles Leroy Fox was born in Seymour, Missouri on May 24th, 1941, to Raymond Fox and Sarah Ingles (Tolbert) Fox. Charles departed this life on February 20th, 2025.

Charles joined the United States Air Force in November 1959 and honorable served until January 1961.

Charles met the love of his life, Sharon Jean Knight on October 7th, 1961. To which two children were born, Teresa Jean Fox and Charles Travis Fox.

Charles was a construction worker and owned Fox Brothers Drywall. He enjoyed working with his hands and making things that he would think of. Charles loved fishing, hunting, and camping with family and friends. Charles along with his wife Sharon, managed two Dairy Queens for several years in Greenville, Texas. He loved gardening and had a true passion for it.

Charles is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sharon Fox; two children, Teresa Fox and Travis Fox; two grandchildren, Charles Rafferty and Charlotte McGinnis; and ten great grandchildren.

Charles is preceded in death by his mother, Sarah Ingles Brown; his father, Raymond Fox; his brothers, Carroll Fox and James Fox; his sisters, Lois Hill, Francise May Fox, and Freda May Fox; and a son-in-law, Charles Guy Martin.

The family would like to thank Phoenix Home Care and Hospice for their love and dedication in taking care of their husband, father, and grandfather. To Pamela, Michelle, Amy, Lindsey, and Rex: you all will forever hold a special place in our hearts, and we are forever grateful for each of you.

A Visitation will take place at 10:30 am on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home: 500 E. Walnut Street, Springfield, Missouri 65806. The Funeral Service will start at 11:30 at the funeral home with Rex Krasche officiating. Burial will follow at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery: 5201 South Southwood Road, Springfield, MO 65804, at 1:00 pm with full Military Honors.
