Mrs. Carolyn June Simpson, 66, Springfield, passed away at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, December 1, 2004 in her home.
Carolyn was born Oct. 30, 1938 in Onarga, Illinois to Thomas and Cleo Pauline (Green) Sumrall. She retired from SMSU where she worked as a secretary for 8 years. She was an avid artist and poet and loved animals. Her greatest love was being a mother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald G. Simpson and her sister, Deloris Jones.
She is survived by her 2 sons, Steven and David Simpson of Springfield; her daughter, Beth Simpson of Ozark; her grandson, Christopher Borden of Ozark; 3 brothers, Lowell Sumrall of Illinois, Robert Sumrall of Massachusetts, and David Sumrall of Illinois; her 2 sisters, Genice Bailey and Beverly Freeman both of Illinois.
Funeral Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 6, 2004 in St. Agnes Chapel with Fr. Marek Bozak celebrant under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home 500 E. Walnut. Burial will be in Springfield National Cemetery.
Scripture services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday with visitation to follow until 3 p.m. all in the funeral home.
