Carol Hagen, 82, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2024, at Cox Hospital. Born on September 26, 1942, in Joplin, Missouri, Carol spent most of her life in the Springfield area, surrounded by loved ones and dear friends.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Butterfield, May (Atwood) Butterfield, and her cherished husband Charles Hagen. She is survived by her loving son, Jeffrey Chism, his fiancée, Tracy Hammer, both of Springfield, as well as several dear cousins.
Carol was a dedicated member of Wesley United Methodist Church, where her Sundays were filled with joy and fellowship. She cherished time with her church friends, whether it was during Taco Tuesday, morning coffee at Braum's, or lunches with Jeff and Tracy after worship.
During her working years, Carol held management roles at Kmart and later worked in bookkeeping at Cox Hospital North. In 2004, she was happy to retire and spend more time with her husband, Charles, and loved ones.
Her warmth, kindness, and love for her community will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church. Services will follow at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Michael McIntyre officiating. The burial will then take place at Maple Park Cemetery.
The family invites those who knew and loved her to join in remembering her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice in her name.
