Brian Lewis Sullivan, was born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts on February 13, 1945. Brian had been in declining health for the last several years and had recently been diagnosed with prostate cancer for which he did not seek treatment. He died on September 5 in his Springfield home at age 62.

Brian was formerly Vice-president and Regional Director for John 0. Hammons Hotels, Inc. where he spent a 29-year career opening and operating over 17 locations for Mr. Hammons across the United States including the award-winning University Plaza Hotel and Convention Center, the Tower Club and Highland Springs Country Club in Springfield. Brian was a gifted hotelier and club manager who was beloved by his staff and those he served in the hospitality industry. Brian was also an active and devoted volunteer at St. Agnes Cathedral where he created meals for special events and funeral dinners. He had the "midas touch" and possessed a gift for making every meal memorable.

Brian was preceded in death by his three brothers Robert, David and Eugene. He is survived by his sons L. Scott and Todd Brian Sullivan and their mother, Barbara Sullivan of Rhododendron, Oregon, Shawn Eugene and Kelli Irene Sullivan and their mother Sarah Sullivan of Springfield. Brian is also survived by other close friends and relatives including his sister-in-law, Ruth Sullivan, Simsbury, Ct and a niece Karen O'Keefe, Durham, NH who have remained close and supportive especially these past several years.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 8 at St. Agnes Cathedral, 601 S. Jefferson, Springfield, Mo with Father Michael McDevitt celebrant under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home. Interment and private family service will take place in Pittsfield, Mass at a later date.
