Brent Johnson

Brent L. Johnson, born on August 16, 1965, passed away on July 24, 2024. Brent was born in Red Oak, IA and leaves behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and love for his family and friends.

Brent’s career in the restaurant business started as the General Manager at the Sonic Drive-In in Eldon, MO in 1992 where he met his loving wife, Stacie, of 27 years. He took a chance on himself and showcased that with hard work, strong leadership, and a passion for people what could be achieved in a restaurant environment. Within 2 years, he rose to the position of Supervisor and then Director of Operations, eventually becoming a franchisee owner of 36 Sonic Drive-Ins across 4 states.

His entrepreneurial spirit led him to explore several other business ventures throughout his life. Over the years, he provided countless people with opportunities to participate in various business endeavors, offering them financial and personal achievement benefits. Brent believed that those who worked hard and remained loyal deserved a share of the success. A man of his word, Brent was a constant coach and inspiration, showing others how to overcome challenges and exceed their own expectations.

Brent was an avid sports fan, passionately following NASCAR, the PGA and the Kansas City Chiefs. He attended numerous games, including the most recent Super Bowl, where he and his wife got to witness the Chiefs' victory in person. Above all, his true passion was golf and he cherished the time spent on the course with his wife, his sons, and good friends. Brent and Stacie also loved to spend time traveling the world. Time on the lake was another favorite pastime, where he enjoyed relaxing and spending time with family and friends. Brent's exceptional cooking was well-known, and he was famous for always having a great meal and a beverage ready for those around him.

Brent took enormous pride in his wife Stacie, his sons Chase, Trevor, and Drake, and his grandchildren Oaklyn, Brezlyn, and Kohen. His family was the center of his world, and his love for them was evident in everything he did. Brent was a believer of second chances and always made sure those around him were taken care of, whether it was picking up a tab or providing advice on what to do – or not to do. Brent wouldn’t have accomplished all his success had he not been blessed with a second chance. His life was not measured by the challenges he faced, but the encouragement he gave others to overcome their own.

Brent is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Stacie, sons, Chase (Paige) Williams, Trevor and Drake Johnson. 3 grandchildren; Oaklyn and Brezlyn Williams and Kohen Johnson. His mother Karen (Gary) Urich, his sister Dawn (Robert) Mountain and his nephews Bryce Johnson & Brock Mountain. He is preceded in death by his father, Donald, brother, Todd and nephews, Blake and Grant.

Brent's life was a testament to the power of hard work, integrity, and the importance of family. He truly lived life to the fullest and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
