Bonnie Pond

Bonnie Bell (Baker) Pond of Springfield, MO, 90 passed away Saturday November 27, 2021.

She was born one of seven daughters to Francis & Blanche (Evans) Baker on October 18, 1931.

She attended school at St. Joseph Catholic Grade School & St. Agnus Catholic High School. She was united in marriage to the love of her life Leon Pond on July 24, 1951. They raised two children Brenda Jean Pond & Bruce Lee Pond.

Leon & Bonnie moved to Kansas City, and she started a 31-year career at Western Electric / AT&T and was part of the Pioneers volunteer network. She retired in 1987. Bonnie & Leon returned to Springfield in 1994.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Blanche Baker, loving husband of 51 years Leon Pond; four sisters, Mary Blackman, Carolyn Williams, Juanita Perryman, Norma Kluhsman. Survivors include two sisters, Jane Hoefgen, and Julie Summers, daughter Brenda and husband Dennis Kalthoff, son Bruce and wife Irene Pond; four grandchildren, Brandon & Nathan Kalthoff, Kristin McCoppin & Kevin Pond; seven great grandchildren, Brennon, Micah, Connor, & Sawyer Kalthoff; Maddox, Marley, & Lennon McCoppin.

Visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00am on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1115 N. Campbell Avenue in Springfield, Missouri with Father Karl W. Barmann, OSB officiating. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am immediately after the visitation in the church under the care and direction of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri.
