Bobby Warren Hopkins, 75, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2018.
He was born May 28, 1943, in Phillipsburg Missouri to Warren and Beatrice (Moore) Hopkins.
A master carpenter for many years, Bobby possessed a passion for the creation, design and the construction of a variety of woodworking projects. Besides his professional carpentry skills, he also provided for his family by stepping into the area manufacturing arena by working at both Zenith Electronics and Loren Cook Company located in Springfield. His leisure time was often spent outdoors where he enjoyed hunting and fishing at various locations in the Ozarks. Bobby was also an avid collegiate and professional sports fan. Above all, though, he cherished time spent with his family.
Preceded in death by his parents and older brother, Jim, his survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Shirley Jean (Elkins); son Ricky; daughters Tammie Russell, Sherry McCoy (husband Kevin), Lori Baxter, Tracey Cavin (husband Harlan), and Michael; eleven grandchildren, Thomas Jr., Jessica, Randy, Kristina, Robert, (wife MerLeesa), Kimberly (husband Brett), Cole, Tiffany, Talia, Marriah and Giana; eight great-grandchildren, Jordan, Avery, Tayden, Isabelle, Ziva, Luke, Skyler, and Olivia. He is also survived by his brothers Larry (wife Brenda) and Johnny, and a sister, Lynda Wood, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 4-5 p.m. Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Herman H. Lohmeyer Chapel, 500 E. Walnut Street, Springfield, Missouri, with a funeral service beginning immediately afterward at 5 p.m. Brett Domeny and Harlan Cavin will preside.
A graveside and committal service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 13, 2018 at Lonesome Hill Cemetery, Phillipsburg, Missouri.
