Bobbi Jones

Bobbi Gene “Genie” Jones, 51, of Bolivar, Missouri stepped from this world into another late Friday night, November 2, 2012 at Cox South in Springfield, Missouri. She was surrounded by family and friends.

She was born August 11, 1961 in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of Charles Robert and Donna Gene (Fellows) Wheelbarger.

Genie, as she was known, had two sons from a previous marriage, Robert Lee and Cullen Flathers. Currently she was married to Loren Stewart Jones and to this union was born one son, Tyler Stewart.

Genie lived most of her life in Missouri. After marrying Loren they moved to Wamsutter, Wyoming helping in the family café business. Upon her return to Bolivar she worked for The Good Samaritan Boys Ranch working in the kitchen for several years then moved to night watch where she was working when she became ill.

She loved riding her horses or just being with them. Genie loved a number of things from crafting with her friends at the Ranch, teaching her niece to crochet while taking Chemo, and baking for her family especially her famous peanut butter cake!

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Ray and Lillie Wheelbarger and Cullen and Mima Fellows, one uncle; Jim Fellows and one nephew; Marshall Joseph Wheelbarger.

She is survived by her husband Loren and son Tyler of the home. Son, Robert Lee Flathers and wife Ashley of Clarksville, Tennessee; where he is stationed in the Army at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Son, Cullen Ray Flathers of Bolivar, Missouri, step-son, Joshua Jones of Rawlins, Wyoming and step-daughter, Kira Jones of Austin, Texas. Also surviving are granddaughters, Mackinzie and Bridgett Flathers of Clarksville, Tennessee and Sveya Jones, Austin, Texas. Her father and mother, Bob and Donna Wheelbarger, two brothers, Jim Wheelbarger and wife Holly of Bolivar, Missouri, and Joe Wheelbarger and wife Glena of Independence, Missouri. One niece, Makalyn Wheelbarger, six nephews, Zacheri Wheelbarger and wife Emily, Cameron Wheelbarger, Tyler and Kent Carnahan all of Bolivar, Missouri, Cody and Owen Wheelbarger of Independence, Missouri and many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

Genie was saved at an early age but slipped away into the world. After discovering she had cancer in February of this year she gave her heart back to the Lord. Now we know she is with her Heavenly Father and the loved ones who went on before her.

She was a very caring and giving person. Her last gift she gave was her beautiful green eyes.

Memorial service for Genie will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Lakeside Assembly of God Church, Pittsburg, Missouri, with Rev. Gary Parsons officiating. Her final resting place will be at Greenwood Cemetery at a later date.
