Billy L. Norman, 60, Springfield, passed away on January 5, 2007, at 2:29 p.m. in Cox South, after a long illness. He was born December 4, 1946 to Ben F. and Arietta (Richardson) Norman. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter, Patsy.
Billy was a graduate of Republic High School, Class of 1964. He served his country for 2 years in the Army. He worked for Zenith Television for 27 years before retiring when they closed. He was a long time member of the Foresters. Billy enjoyed collecting coins and keeping up with history and current events on his computer.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sharon; two sons, Garland Norman and his wife, Becky and James Norman and his wife, Lisa, all of Springfield; three grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren; his sister, Jeanette Young and her husband, Sammy of Clever; numerous aunts, uncles and friends.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 9, 2007, in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut, with Rev. Fred D. Luper, officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Brookline Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 Monday, in the funeral home.
