Billie Faye (Webb) Lawson, age 82, of Springfield, passed away May 15, 2009, in The Neighborhoods at Quail Creek.
She was born April 13, 1927, in Wellston, Oklahoma, the youngest child of Ward W. and Elizabeth Webb. She lived in California for many years, working as an administrator and creative director for a construction firm. She brought beauty wherever she went. Her creativity was expressed in welcoming homes for her family, gardens full of variety and color, and beautifully tailored clothing. She had a quick wit, a lively sense of fun, and a conviction that God could give all of us a "new heart." Her prayers helped bring strength and wholeness to her children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William P. ("Bill") Lawson; her parents; two brothers, Bert and Rue; and a sister, Edith.
Billie is survived by her daughter, Kate Lawson of Springfield; son, Paul Lawson and his wife, Stephanie of Springfield; as well as grandson, Sean Lawson and his wife, Karla; granddaughter, Gretta Strickland and her husband, Leland; and two great-grandchildren, Sarah and Andrew Strickland, all of Oklahoma City.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 23, in University Heights Baptist Church, in the chapel.
