Bill Carr

Bill Junior Carr was born in Republic, Missouri on July 12, 1932. His family moved to Springfield, Missouri shortly after, where he happily lived the remainder of his life. He graduated from Springfield Senior High School in 1950.

Bill married his sweetheart, Martha Brake, on July 14, 1952. That same year, he joined the United States Marine Corp. He rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant and proudly served his country during the Korean War.

Bill and Martha raised two children, Rebecca (b. 1953) and Michael (b. 1955) during their 46 years of marriage. Bill built a career in the Consumers Market Grocery chain. He and Martha also worked together as owners of an ice cream parlor in the late 1960’s.

After the death of his wife, Bill worked for the American Red Cross and Community Blood Center of the Ozarks. He always brought a smile to the faces of the people he met and worked with every day.

Bill passed away on January 16, 2021 at the age of 88. He is survived by his son, Michael and 3 grandchildren, Diane, Anthony, and Thomas.

The private family committal service will be held at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery will full military honors.
