Beverly Ferguson

Beverly Jo Ferguson, long term Springfield resident, returned to God’s hands on May 20, 2016. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in Love and God guided her throughout her life. Beverly was born to Marion Kay and Laura Frances (Flanagan) Summers, in St Louis, MO on December 29, 1929.
Beverly was blessed with a large and loving family. She married her best friend, the late Alton Robert (AR) Ferguson on December 2, 1952. Beverly raised her eight children with love, faith, and laughter. Along with being a loving spouse and mother, Beverly was an accomplished poet and painter having completed a number of commissioned portraits.
Beverly is survived by her children, Elizabeth Ferguson, Alton Robert Ferguson lll, Mary Larson, Thomas Ferguson, James Ferguson, Laura Griffin-Boyle, John Ferguson, William (Bill) Ferguson, her 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Alton Robert Ferguson, her sisters, Madeline Reid and Lorida Dale; her parents; and her grandson, Alton William Ferguson.
A service for Beverly will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday May 27, 2016 in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with burial following in Rivermonte Memorial Gardens.
