Benedict Swai

On Sunday, September 16, 2018 Benedict Swai, age 46, passed away suddenly at his home. Ben was the son of Mr. Josephat Jacob Swai and the late mama Eliakenen Swai and the loving father of Andre Swai. He is survived by his brothers Martin Swai, Ludovick Swai, Andrew Swai, Nelson Swai and sister Flora Swai.

Ben was born in Kilimanjaro, Tanzania on September 8, 1972. He eventually settled in Springfield, Missouri in 1996. He worked at Mercy Hospital as a nurse for many years where he made wonderful memories with his coworkers.

Ben had the ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. He loved reggae music and enjoyed drawing and cooking.
He will be greatly missed but his memory will live on in those who have had the pleasure of knowing him.

Family, friends and others whose lives Ben touched are invited to the Herman H. Lohmeyer funeral home, 500 E. Walnut Street, Springfield, MO 65806, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM CST, on Saturday September 22, 2018, for a memorial service, and to pay our last respects to Ben.
