Amanda Stephenson

Amanda Elise Stephenson, age 26, beloved daughter of Rick and Mary Ellen Stephenson, succumbed to her life-long disability on Sunday morning July 24, 2011, surrounded by her family at home in Rogersville, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents William and Mary Stephenson of Columbia Mo, her maternal grandmother Mary East of Buttermilk Springs, and her brother Michael Stephenson of Springfield Mo.

Amanda brought much joy to her large family with her sweet, uncomplaining nature and will be sadly missed. She is survived by her parents, her 5 brothers, Brian, Ethan, Ben, Jason and Jonah Stephenson; 5 sisters, Amy Morgan, Sarah Kunkel, Rebecca Stephenson, Megan Mitchell and Kim Stephenson; her maternal grandfather Leo East, 10 nephews and nieces, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. A very important part of her family was the nursing staff of Oxford Home Health, who loved and helped care for Amanda at home for 20 years. For them we are forever grateful.

We invite friends and family to visit with us and share in the joy of Amanda’s life on Sunday July 31, 2011 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm, at Council of Churches Fellowship Hall, 627 North Glenstone, Springfield Mo. Memorial graveside services will be August 1st, 2011 at 9:00 am at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, 5201 S. Southwood Road, Springfield Mo.

If desired, memorial donations may be made out to Daybreak Adult Day Care, 1461 East Seminole, Springfield, Mo. 65804.
